February News Update

Hello,

Just thought I’d update everyone with what’s going on for Brilliant Mind. We have nearly NEARLY finished the Blyth EP, I’m sure you’ll all be very relieved to know. Not sure how we’re gonna release it yet, but expect it to come out around April/May time, probably on cassette.

In April we’re going back into the studio and re-record our first ever demo to release as a proper single. That means Leave Your Friends Behind b/w Six Months should come out in early Autumn, if all goes to plan (which it usually doesn’t).

We have a gig at the Head of Steam on the 8th of March supporting So Many Wizards (facebook event here), and a really really great support slot coming up in May which we’ll be able to confirm very soon. Hopefully we’re going to organise a little launch party/gig for when the EP is released, I’ll let you know more about that when we actually have a release date.

We’re also going to be appearing on NE1 FM’s “Hit The North East” on the 21st of March, between 7pm and 9pm, chatting and playing some records and generally sounding like idiots.

Besides that, we’re currently writing another EP which we hope to record in the summer, and we’re also working on another batch of songs which will form part of a slightly longer release- who knows when that will see the light of day.

So, we’re finally actually doing stuff again!! Ace. You’ll be able to hear the new EP as soon as it’s finished.

omfg me and brilliant mind did lonely this christmas at the cluny 2 on thursday and it’s jam packed with homo eroticism!!!!!!!!

I can’t believe this happened. I can’t believe I did this. I can’t believe I did a monologue mentioning buying fibre optic christmas trees from Wilkinsons. Sigh.

Oh actually, we’re gonna be on the radio at 4:20pm!! Listen out.

We’re going to be on BBC Radio Newcastle at 4:30pm this afternoon, to talk about our North East version of Lonely This Christmas!

I didn’t realise that was radio worthy, but it’s still lovely! You can listen to us make fools of ourselves as it happens, right HERE.

We recorded a version of Lonely This Christmas yesterday, download it for free and wallow in your own self pity! Merry Christmas!

THIS is only a taste of what you can expect from me and Fantasy Rainbow, at this friday’s Narc Stars in Their Eyes Christmas Party!! Be there or else (it’s at the Cluny in Newcastle).
